Jean E. Marosy, of Greenville, Pa, formerly of Sharon, passed away surrounded by her family, at 5:50 a.m., on Friday, May 20, 2016, in UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, after a brief illness. She was 85.
Jean was born in Sharon, PA, on August 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Reuben and Marion (Atwood) Furey. She was a 1947 graduate of Sharon High School.
She had worked as head cook at Oak Tree Country Club, West Middlesex. Previously, she had worked at The Marigold Restaurant and Bar in Sharon. After her retirement, she had done child care.
Jean enjoyed watching ice skating, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, and being an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was the wife of Julius Marosy who survives her at home in Greenville. Her first husband, Robert Donaldson, died in 1996.
Her family includes her three daughters, Paula Donaldson and her companion, Todd Sherrod, of Hermitage, PA, Karen Drake and her husband, Jim , of Greenville, PA, and Linda Rimkus and her husband, Pete, of Sharon, PA and her son, Robert Donaldson and his wife, Karen, of Lansing, KS. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren along with a step-sister, Alice Krauss, of Ohio. Besides her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Randy Marosy, and a sister, Ruth Marosy, and a brother, Robert Furey.
