Janet E. Hoovler, of 1005 Biscayne Dr. Hermitage, PA. passed away on Jan. 20, 2013 at 8:50a.m. in WhiteCliff Health and Rehabilitation Center, W. Salem twp, PA after an extended illness. She was 74.
Janet was born in Sharon, PA on December 12, 1938, the daughter of the late Howard W. and MaryFern (Hunter) Chapin. She was a graduate of Hickory High School.
Janet was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church Sharon, PA., She had been a member of the Lydia Circle of the church. She loved walking in Buhl Farm Park, cooking, doing ceramics, and spending time with her family. Strong in her faith, she read her Bible daily during her devotions. She had been a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program.
She was the wife of Lowell Thomas Hoovler. whom she married on July 31, 1970. He survives at home.
She is also survived by her daughters, MaryFern McGowan of WestMiddlesex, PA. and Tracy Apa and her husband, John of Hermitage, PA. and three sons, Robert McGowan and his wife, Anne, of Hermitage, PA., Kevin McGowan and his wife, Sharon, and Richard Hoovler and his wife, Emily, all of of Sharpsville, PA, and seven grandchildren, John Thomas Apa, Justine Apa and her husband, Cody Smith, Robyn McGowan, Shaun McGowan, Brianna McGowan, Kaden and Cameron Hoovler. Also survivng are two brothers, Rev. James Chapen and his wife, Janet, of Greenville, PA and Mark Chapin and his wife, Sally, of Atlanta, GA. Besides her parents, she was preceeded in death by her brother, Raymond Chapin.
