James A Knapp Sr.

James A. Knapp Sr., of Sharon, PA passed away on Mon., Aug. 14, 2017, in his home after an extended illness. He was 73.
James was born in Sharon, PA on December 16, 1943, the son of the late Joseph and Polly (Brown) Knapp. He attended Sharon schools growing up.
He was a sheet metal worker and was owner of Knapp Heating & Cooling Co. for over 30 years.
Jim enjoyed cooking, fishing and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. He had sponsored the Knapp Heating and Cooling Little League team in the past. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim was of the Baptist faith.
Jim married Joyce (Guthrie) Knapp on Feb. 3, 1964. She survives him at home. His family includes his daughters, Jeanette Shaffer & her husband Walter, of West Virginia, and Laurie Knapp at home, his sons, James A. Knapp Jr. & his wife Evann of Hermitage, PA, Jeffrey Knapp & his wife Sheila, of Sharon, PA, Bradley Knapp & his wife Summer, of Sharpsville, PA, his 16 grandchildren, Gregory, Adam, Aaron, Jordon, Timothy, Kealani, Kristen, Keone, Kenzie, Zachary, Ashley, Veronica, Jaylee, Brookelynn, Arielle, and Jordan, along with 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Joyce Gee & her husband Jon, of Sharon, PA, Darlene Muszik & her husband Charles, of Hermitage, PA, and brothers Joseph Knapp of Mercer, PA, Ronald Knapp & his wife Jean ,of Kane, PA, and Wesley Knapp of Brookfield, OH. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Knapp.
Donations in his memory may be made to Tribute Program St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
Private family visitation and funeral services will take place on Friday, (8/18/17) at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E. State St., Sharon, PA. Private interment at Oakwood Cemetery Hermitage, PA. Condolences to the family may be expressed by visiting stevensonfuneralhome.net
