James R. Aiken Sr.

Mr. James R. Aiken, Sr., of Mercer, PA, died August 11, 2016, in Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, after an extended illness. He was 79. .
Mr. Aiken was born in ,Wattsburg, PA, on March 31, 1937, the son of the late Ross and Dorothy Aiken.
He had worked as a driver at Adessa Auto Auction.in Mercer, PA. Previously, he had worked for Chadderton Trucking and at the former Sharon Steel.
James liked hunting , fishing and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived bby his son, James R. Aiken Jr. and his wife, Florence, of Mercer, PA, and a daughter, Debby Ott of Sharpsville, PA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, and 1 great great- grandson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Slater and a brother, Lee Aiken.
At his request there will be no calling hours or services. Cremation services provided by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home., 264 East State St., Sharon, PA.
