Irma J. Maykowski, of New Wilmington, formerly of Hull Street in Sharon, PA , passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Overlook Nursing Home in New Wilmington, PA. She was 93.
Irma was born in Sharon,, PA on August 9, 1920, the daughter of the late Julius and Theresa (Szalo) Marosy. She attended Sharon Schools growing up. She was a member of St. Stanislaus /Holy Trinity Church in Sharon.
She was owner of the former at Irma's Restaurant & Irma's Coffee Shop in Reynolds, PA., before retiring in 1981. She had also worked at the former Industrial Machine Shop and Diesel Power Plant in Reynolds. and also worked at the former Golden Eagle Restaurant in Clark and the Shenango Inn in Sharon. Irma enjoyed cooking and being with her family.
She was the widow of Stanley Maykowski. whom she married on June 1, 1940. He died on Feb. 5, 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Zikmund and her husband, Robert, of Hermitage, PA, three sons, Richard Maykowski and his wife, Boni, of Vero Beach, FL., Thomas Maykowski and his wife, Debi, of Hermitage, PA, and Raymond Makowski of LaBelle, FL, along with 6 grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Julius Marosy and his wife, Jean, of Greenville,PA. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by tow sisters, Theresa Valent and Margaret Watkins, and three brothers, Joseph, Steven, and Bill Marosy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Stanislaus/Holy Trinity Church, in Sharon. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Whitman officiating.
Interment at St. Stanislaus Cemetery ,Farrell, PA.
