Ida R. Marcus, of Hermitage, PA, formerly of Thornton St., Sharon, passed away peacefully on Wed., Aug. 3, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. in Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage, after an extended illness. She was 94.
Ida was born in Steubenville, Ohio on October 4, 1921, the daughter of the late Carmello and Rosalie (Oliver) Astone. She was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
Ida enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Carl "Moe" Marcus, whom she married on July 27, 1946. He died on Jan. 2, 2013.
She is survived by her two daughters, Darlene Turnbaugh and her husband, Gene, of Hermitage, PA and
Patricia "Patty" Boldish of West Middlesex, PA, and her grandchildren, Kerry Boldish, Krystal Miller, Stacie Marcus, Gene Marcus, and Justin Turnbaugh, and 8 great- grandchildren along with her three sisters, Rosalie DelPapa,, Francis DiFeo and her husband, Gary and Gloria Hassell and her husband, Lynn, all of Sharon, PA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Gligor, Mary Taub and Jenny Sakony and her brothers, Norman and Joseph Astone.
