Helen E. Ott, age 93, of 3726 East State Street Hermitage, fomerly of Sharon PA and Cortland, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospitality Care Center in Hermitage, on Saturday, June 3, 2012 at 6:55 p.m. after an extended illness.
Helen was born in Greenville, PA on August 15, 1918, the daughter of the late Floyd and Esther (Knoblow) Newton. Helen loved little children and often did babysitting for area families. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Helen was of the Protestant faith.
She was the widow of Lawrence C. Ott. whom she married on December 6, 1947. He died September 2, 2003. Her survivors include her daughter, Grace Marie Weaver of Greenville,PA., her niece and caregiver, Emma Serafin and her husband, Stanley, of Sharpsville, PA , and her brother, Clyde H. Newton and his wife, Ida, of Hermitage, PA. Several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews also survive. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceeded in death by her sisters, Marion Fischer, Harriett Patton, Gladys Schutz, Esther Butto, Inez Woods, Isabell Newton, and twins Ila and Virginia Newton, along with her brothers, Floyd Newton and James O. Newton

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, June 7th, 2012 with Rev. Kenneth Martin, pastor of The First Assembly of God Church in Hermitage officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, PA.
