Gary J. Funderlich, West Middlesex, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, March 27, 2017, in Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH from complications of suffering a stroke. He was 55.
Gary was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 9, 1961, the son of Joseph and Carol (Fawcett) Funderlich of Pittsburgh.
He was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry and was elected Sr. Warden . As a lawyer, his career allowed him to travel the world working as General Counsel for both for profit and for non-profit organizations.
Gary was the loving husband of C. Robert Ridgeway III for 30 years. He survives him at their home in West Middlesex. Besides his parents, he is also survived by his sister, Deanna Schneider and her husband Richard, of Pittsburgh, PA, his nephew, Erik Schneider, his nieces, Maddie, Samantha, Danielle, Alexis and Brianna Ridgeway, his mother and father-in-law, C. Robert Ridgeway Jr. and Paulette Ridgeway, of Pittsburgh, PA and his brothers-in-law, Dean Ridgeway and his wife, Becky, Mark Ridgeway and his wife Kathy, and Brad Ridgeway and his wife, Nikki, all of Pittsburgh, PA. Gary will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Gathering Time will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00a.m., in the Lounge of St. John's Episcopal Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st, with Rev. Adam T. Trambley officiating. Inurnment at St. John's Episcopal Church Columbarium.
