Fred Hassan, of Sharon, PA, passed away on Sat., Dec. 30, 2017, at the Butler Veterans Hospital after a brief illness. He was 87.
He was born in Arnold, PA on July 21, 1930, the son of the late Colod and Anna (Mohamed) Hassan.
Fred served proudly in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam war.
Fred had worked as a selector at the former Peter J. Schmidt Company in Sharon before it closed.
He was a member of the Sharon American Legion Post 229 and the Hickory VFW Post 6166.
He is survived by three daughters, Patty Hassan Emch of Virginia, Barbara Harper and Janet Klein, both of Sharon, PA and two sons, Frederick C. Hassan & his wife Cristie, of Sharon, PA, Timothy Hassan & his wife Melissa ,of Wheatland, PA and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Margaret Wallace, and his brother, James Hassan, both of Hermitage, PA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Hassan.
Friends are invited to call Thursday, Dec. 4, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. till noon at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon.
