Frances M. Vellente Dipiero

Frances M. Vellente DiPiero, of 337 Frederick Drive, Farrell, PA, formerly of Sharon, PA and Campbell, OH, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 28, 2014, at 12:25 a.m. at John XXIII Home in Hermitage, PA, after an extended illness. She was 86.
Frances was born in Sharon,PA on November 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Rosario and Anna Rose (Bianco) Bianco. She was a 1946 graduate of Sharon High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St.Ann's Catholic Church Farrell, PA.
Frances had worked as a clerk at City of Sharon Tax Office retiring in 1985. Previously, she had worked at the former McDowell Bank and Sharon Store, both in Sharon. She enjoyed cooking, and traveling, especially her many trips to Europe. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and will be remembered fondly as a devoted Mother and Grandmother.
She was the widow of Pasquale "Nino" DiPiero. He died in 2001. Her first husband, Joseph L. Vellente, whom she married on Sept. 6, 1952 , died Nov. 6, 1981.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Nadine Vellente of with whom she made her home, in Farrell, PA, and her son, Lou Vellente and his wife, Melinda, of Sharon, PA, two grandchildren, Taylor Ann Shimshock, of Farrell, PA and Joseph Vellente and his companion, Jennifer Bateman, of Sharpsville, PA, two brothers, Gene Bianco and his wife, Judy, and Ray Bianco, all of Sharon, PA, 3 sister-in-laws, Delores Bianco of Hermitage, PA, Donna Booth, of Canton, OH, and Shirley Vellente, of North Carolina, along with 3 step-brothers, Dave, Bob, and Jeff Hoover. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Lee Michael Shimshock, her brother, Rosario Bianco, and a sister-in-law, Arleen Bianco.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Lee Michael Shimshock Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o the Community Foundation, 7 West State St., Suite 301, Sharon, PA 16146.
Friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 31st at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, Farrell, PA, with Rev. Donald Berdis officiating. Funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:10 a.m. Interment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Hermitage.
