Emily Bobby, of 1907 Shady Drive, Farrell, PA passed away peacefully in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System, on Monday, July 28, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. She was 98.
Emily was born in Burgettstown, PA on March 16, 1916, the daughter of the late John and Loretta (Zuccaro) Bernola. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hermitage, PA., and had been a member of the former Grace Lutheran Church in Farrell.
She had worked as a tipstaff for the Mercer County Court System in Mercer, PA. for many years, retiring in 2008. Previous to working as a tipstaff, she had been a deputy in the sheriff's office of Mercer County. She had worked at the courthouse for 45 years.
Emily was affiliated with many are social clubs in the area including the former Farrell Music Guild and had been a Red Cross Volunteer in her younger years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, music, dancing and family times, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was the widow of Carl R. Bobby, whom she married on April 24, 1935. He died on Aug. 7, 2000. She is survived by her son, Carl M. Bobby, of Farrell, PA, her two grandsons, Christopher Bobby and his wife Holly, and Erich Bobby and his wife, Roxanne, and her four great-grandchildren, Cara, Lauren, Chase and Zachary Bobby, all of Sharon, PA. Also surviving are her two sisters, Mary Gobleck of Joffrey, PA and Armeda DiLorenzo, of Weirton, WV and her brother, August Bernola and his wife, Kathy, of Washington, PA. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
A Gathering Time will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Saints. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 699 Stambaugh Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.
A Memorial Service will follow at Saints. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sharon, PA. at 1:00p.m. on Friday, August 1st, with Rev. Jeffrey Harter officiating. Private burial at Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, in Hermitage, PA. Condolences to the family may be expressed by visiting stevensonfuneralhome.net
