Edward J. "Pooh" Parola

Edward J "Pooh" Parola, of S. Pymatuning twp., Transfer, PA, died on Sun., Jan. 7, 2018 in his home, surrounded by his family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 50.
He was born in S. Pymatuning twp. in the house he lived in on July 26, 1967, the son of the late Leo D. and Marilyn (Monter) Parola. Ed was a 1986 graduate of Sharpsville High School and the Mercer County Career Center.
He worked as a welder at Prime Metals Cortland, OH, for 17 years. He had previuously worked at the former Trinity Industries in Greenville and had owned Ed's Exhaust.
Pooh was an avid motorcycle rider and belonged to the Greenville Moose Club riders group. He enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling, chopping wood for the winter with his buddies, and spending time with his family and friends. He was of the Catholic faith.
On August 12, 2006, he married the love of his life, Laura L. (Lopaze) Parola. who survives him at home. Also surviving are his daughter, Tiffany Johnson of Chicago, IL, his grandson, Nathanial Oktokiyuk of Portland, OR, sisters Patricia Parola of Canton, OH., Marie Johnson of Hermitage, PA, twin sisters Carol Parola of Hermitage and Cheryl Parola of Farrell, PA and his brothers, Leo D. Parola III and his wife Diane of Greenville, PA and Paul Parola and his wife Kathy of Florida. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Johnson and his sister, Lyda Dagres.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12th, with Rev. Richard Carlson officiating. Cremation services provided by the funeral home.
