Dorothy Florence Reefer

Dorothy Florence Reefer, of 671 Spruce Ave., Sharon, PA, passed away at 8:17 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, in UPMC Horizon Hospital in Farrell, after complications from a stroke. She was 85.
She was born in Wilkinsburg, PA on November 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Gourley James and Florence A. (McGregor) McLaughlin. Dorothy was a graduate of Kitanning (PA) High School.
In her earlier years, Dorothy loved to sew. She had bowled in the Thursday Night Mixed League at Thornton Hall Lanes. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family. Dorothy was a member of the S. Pymatuning Community Church.
On Dec. 17, 1949, she married Raymond Blair Reefer. He died on Feb. 14, 1996. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce E. Reefer of Sharon, PA, her son, James B. Reefer and his wife, Janet, of Sharpsville, PA, and her grandaughters, Courtney and Nicole Reefer, and her grandson, Brady Reefer. Also surviving are a sister, Jean Boyer, of Erie, PA, several nieces and nephews, and her pet cat, Goofy. Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mary Troutman, and infant brother, and her cat, Whacky.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 5th, 2013, with Rev. David Searle of S. Pymatuning Community Church and Pastor Paul Greggs of IHS Ministries officiating. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, PA.
