Dorothy L. Hainley, age 93, of Sharpsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at her residence, with her family by her side.
Born July 8, 1931, in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late John Dalton and Albertina (Schillg) Manley.
Dorothy graduated from Altoona High School and worked for twenty years in the housekeeping department at Sharon Regional Hospital. She also worked for Philadelphia Candies and Lawson's. She was a former member of Brookfield Christian Church and enjoyed walking and crocheting. Dorothy was also a lover of the ocean water and beach and she loved the beautiful moon. She was also an avid Walmart shopper. She enjoyed watching all her kids participate in all activities as well as her grandchildren and loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She is survived by a daughter, Cathy Jo Buckley of Sharpsville, PA, two sons, John A. Hainley (Malu) of Sharon, PA, and Robert H. Hainley, of Ventura, CA, a sister Margie Ickes, of Roaring Springs, PA, a sister-in-law Joyce Manley of Cape Carteret, NC, five grandchildren, Trisha Pippin (Brandon), Joseph Buckley (Connie), Jason Hainley, Chrissy Hainley Veller (Devon) and Michael Hainley and six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Buckley, Mackenzie Buckley, Bailey Pippin, Bethany Pippin, Kayden Hainley and Heidi Veller as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by a son Richard Hainley, two sisters, Rae Baker and Fae Yentzer and a brother Warren Manley.
A memorial service for family and invited friends only, will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township, PA. Burial will be in Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, PA, 16146.
