Dorothy R. "Dottie" (Reed) White, of 7298 Brookwood Drive Brookfield, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 8:25 p.m., in Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 85.
Dottie was born in Sharon, PA on February 22, 1928, the daughter of the late George C. and Lucy (Tarr) Maul. She was a 1945 graduate of Sharon High School. She was a member of Brookfield United Methodist Church.
She was a homemaker, but in her younger years, she had worked at the former Bell Telephone office in Sharon. Dottie was an accomplished Bridge player and was a Silver Life Master of Duplicate Bridge. She was also an avid golfer having achieved 3 holes in one. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Louis S. White, whom she married on April 1, 1978. Her first husband, Dean S. Reed died in 1975. Also surviving is her daughter, Linda Reed Lewnes and her husband, Peter, of Brookfield, OH. and two sons, John S. Reed and his wife, Lori, of Brookfield, OH., Jeff D. Reed and his wife, Gloria, of New Hampshire, along with three step-daughters, Susan Thomas and her husband, John, of Brookfield, OH., Dianne Greene and her husband, Russell, of Encino, CA., Mary Beth Wolfe and her husband, David, of Niles, OH. and a step-son, David W. White of Cincinnati, OH, and 9 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Maul.

At her request there will be no calling hours. Cremation will take place. Private graveside services will be held with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park Hermitage, PA.
