Donald A. Stoddard

Donald A. Stoddard, of 441 S. 7th Street Sharpsville, PA, formerly of Bradenton, FL, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. in Jameson Health System in New Castle, PA after an extended illness. He was 86.
Donald was born in Kikozi, Congo, Africa on January 19, 1928, the son of the late Jason E. and Alice (Schofield) Stoddard. Ater graduating high school, he earned a B.A. from Columbia Biblical University in S.C. and went on to earn a Masters Degree in Christian Education from Wheaton College in Illinois.
He had worked as a missionary and teacher for TEAM in Pakistan., for 38 years. Donald was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Bradenton, FL. While living in the Sharpsville since 2012, he attended Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon, where he sang in the Chancel Choir and was a member of the Couplers Sunday School Class.
On September 10, 1955, he married Ruth K. (McCully) Stoddard. She survives at home. Also surviving are his two daughters, Virginia A. Long and her husband, David, of Ukhwi, Botswana, Africa., and Joy A. Johnston and her husband, Thomas, of Sharpsville, PA, and his son Gene A. Stoddard and his wife Bonnie, of West Chicago, IL, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy Stoddard and a sister-in-law, Margaret Stoddard both of Palmetto, FL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a bother and a sister.

Funeral and Committal service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, June 17th, with Rev. Dr. Terry Mann of Covenant Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment at Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, PA.
