David T Hanahan

David T. Hanahan, of Meadville, PA, formerly of Sharpsville, PA, passed away on Sat., Jan., 23, 2016, at 12:40 p.m. at Wesbury, in Meadville, after a brief illness. He was 69.
David was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 21, 1946, the son of the late Thomas Francis and Eva Mary (Robbins) Hanahan. He was a 1964 graduate of Hickory High School and went on to attend Youngstown State University.
He was a member of St. Agatha's Catholic Church, Meadville, PA., and a former member of St. Bartholomew's Church in Sharpsville, where he had served on church council.
Dave had worked as radio announcer and salesmanager at Cool 101.7 Radio in Meadville., for 12 years.He was the long-time voice of the Allegheny College sports and area high school games. While living in the Shenango Valley, he was a well-known morning radio personality and sports director for WPIC. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan and enjoyed attending sporting events of his grandchildren. He loved people, sports, and being on the radio. Dave will be truly missed by his colleagues, friends, and family.
Dave was the husband of Linda (Adams) Hanahan, whom he married on June 14, 1969. She survives him at home. He is also survived by his two sons, Thomas Hanahan and his wife, April, of Monroeville, PA, and William Hanahan, and his wife, Tabitha, of Lakehurst, NJ. along four grandchildren, Nicholas, Kelsey, and Chelsey Hanahan and Chace Kelley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150 at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, January 28th, with Rev. Matthew Strickenberger of St. Bartholomew's Church officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage, PA.
