Mr. Daniel Pendray Davis, age 86, of Sharon, PA died peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:25 a.m. at Avalon Springs in Mercer, PA. Mr. Davis was born in Sharpsville, PA on September 29, 1924, the son of the late Pendray and Josephine (Resley) Davis. He was a 1942 graduate of Sharpsville High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a sargeant during WWII. He was a member of East Side Church in Sharon where he was an elder emeritus and a member of the choir, as well as playing drums with the praise team. He worked as a salesman at Wheaton and Sons In Hermitage for several years. He had also worked at the former Sharon Store and Shontz and Meyers, both in downtown Sharon. He was a 50 year member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge # 518, of Sharpsville, PA. In his younger years, he had played drums with the Sons of the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corp.. Dan loved musice, doing yardwork, and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. He was the husband of the former Irene Johnson Foster Davis, whom he married on June 14, 1986. She survives at home. Also survivng are his two step-daughters, Susan Davis and her husband, Mark of Hermitage, PA and Jennie Foster of Port St. Lucie, Florida and a step-son, Roger Foster and his wife, Charlotte, of Aston, PA along with five step-grandchildren, Jessica Davis and her fiance' Michael Gorka, Glenn and Alex Davis, Rachel and Sarah Foster, and a niece, Cherie Fleet and her husband George, of Hermitage, PA. Besides his parents,he was preceeded in death by three sisters, Marise Hoffacker, Louise Uber, and Evelyn Davis. Funeral Service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Robert Varnam (Interim Pastor) and Rev. Ty Sabella (Retired Pastor) Officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage, PA
