Cora Irene Edwards

Cora Irene Edwards, age 68, of Austintown, Ohio, formerly of Sharon PA, passed away on Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at her residence. Born February 10, 1950 in Windber PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis Reay Brandan. She was adopted by her maternal grandparents John Henry I and Margaret Schultz Reay. She married Billy Joe Edwards on September 23, 1966 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2008.
Cora retired from AT&T as a customer service representive in 2010. Prior to that she worked for MCAR for fifteen years as a Supervisor of the kitchen and taught cooking skills to the residents.
Cora enjoyed reading, movies, crafts and politics. She was a member of the Democratic Women of Mahoning Valley, Mahoning Valley Democratic National Committee, Mahoning Valley Democratic Association, Progressive.Org and The Resistance.
She is survived by two daughters Dyanna Edwards and her spouse Todd Kushner of Johnstown, PA, and Katrine Edwards of Austintown, OH, two sons William Edwards and his spouse Lynn Davis of Grove City, PA, and John Reay and his wife Amber of Pittsburgh, PA, and a foster son Leroy Taylor of Sharon, PA. Survived also by two brothers William Brandon Jr. of St. Louis MO, and Terry Brandon of Fowler, OH, and two sisters Mary Margaret Taub of Sharon, PA, and Gina Mae Alexander of Sharpsville, PA, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon PA, where a Time of  Remembrance will be held at 8:00 pm.
