Clarence Boyd Clevenger

Clarence Boyd Clevenger, of Hermitage, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 3:45 a.m., in Sharon Regional Health System, after a brief illness. He was 89.
Clarence was born in Blacklick (Indiana County), PA on April 9, 1926, the son of the late Clarence C. and Bertha (Campbell) Clevenger. He was a 1942 graduate of Brush Valley High School. He served his country by being in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953.
Clarence was a long time member of Charleston Methodist Church, serving in several positions over the years.. He had worked as a crane operator at former Westinghouse plant in Sharon, retiring in 1984. He also drove school bus for Watsons Inc. and the former Garrett's, both in Hermitage, for a total of 28 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, reading, gardening, and doing home mechanical work.
He was the widower of V. Ruby (Deyarmin) Clevenger. whom he married on April 2, 1949. She died on Jan. 1, 2000. He is survived by his son, Terry B. Clevenger and his wife Lita, of Boardman, OH, a daughter-in-law, Laura Clevenger, of West Middlesex, PA, along with his seven grandchildren, Jerrod Clevenger and his wife, Savannah, of Pulaski, PA, Wesley Clevenger, of Hermitage, PA, Clayton and Logan Clevenger, of West Middlesex, PA, Brent Clevenger, of Austin, TX , and Brandon and Brittany Clevenger, of Boardman, OH. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Boyd B. Clevenger, who died Jan. 5, 2015, and his sister, Sara Grindle.

Friends may call on, Tuesday, July 14, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146
Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA., on Wednesday, July 15, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William Locke, of the Charleston United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment at Mount Washington Cemetery in Jefferson twp., with Military Honors provided by the Wheatland, Farrell, West Middlesex Honor Guard.
