Christy Fier, age 102, of Sharpsville, PA, formerly of Sharon, PA, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at his residence.
Born August 28, 1923, in Oliver # 1, PA, Fayette County, he was the son of the Late Mike and Mary (Tardio) Fier. He married the former Rosemarie Manion and she preceded him in death on March 2, 2002.
Christy worked for the former Sharon Steel for over 30 years until his retirement. He also served his country honorably in the Army during WW II.
He was a member of the former First Assembly of God Church, now Family Life Church in Hermitage, PA, where he served as an Elder. He was also a member of the Sharon American Legion, Post 299, the Farrell VFW and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, UPMC Horizon Hospital and Joshua's Haven. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Christy is survived by two daughters, Margaret (David) Cashier, of Sharpsville, PA, and Elaine (Dennis) Rainey, of Sharon, PA, a son Christopher (Lois) Fier, of Sharpsville, PA, nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister Rose Fani, two brothers, Frank and Tony Fier, and a granddaughter, Rosemarie Munich.
A gathering time will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM in Family Life Church, 1455 N. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, PA, 16148. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM from the church with Pastor Chris Massey and Associate Pastor Michael Sabella officiating. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Wheatland American Legion and W.Middlesex VFW, Honor Guard. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
