Mr. Charles Allen Barger, of 55 W Connelly Blvd. Sharon, PA, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015 at 12:40 a.m. in Nugent CCRC in Hermitage after an extended illness. He was 81.
Charles was born in Piney Twp., PA on March 29, 1933, the son of the late Charles Richard and Catherine Ruth (Lerch) Barger. He was a 1952 graduate of Sligo High School.
He was a former member of Lebanon United Presbyterian Church, where he had served as a trustee and was now a member of the Sharon First Methodist Church.
Charles had worked as the owner of his construction company for 30 years and had worked for Anderson Construction, the Glass Plant in Knox, PA and at Sharon Steel in Farrell. He also had worked for Simco , the Loble Co., and retired from the former Sky Bank retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 810, formerly #668, and also of the New Castle Consistory. Charles enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Charles was the husband of Shirley Belle (Stitt) Barger. whom he married on Sept. 27, 1952. She survives at home. Also surviving are his daughter, Pamela Sisic and her husband, David, of Farmdale, OH, two sons, Richard Barger and his wife, Irene, of Sharon, PA., Randy Barger, and his wife, Paula, of Hermitage, PA., 6 grandchildren, Patricia Myers, Casey Dunbar, Richelle Barger, Amanda Polite, Erica Dunbar, and David Barger, 7 step-grandchildren, Cindy Sluder, Tammy Sexton, Larry Spradlin, Chris Spradlin, Matt Sisic, Suzette Holiski, and Paul Sisic along with 19 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, John Barger , and his wife, Janet, of DesMoines, IA.
Donations in his memory may be made to the either the American Heart Association , or the American Lung Association.
