Charlene M. (Sonk) Richter, a resident of Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock twp. Pa, formerly of Tenth Street, Sharon, PA. went to be with her precious Lord and be reunited with her beloved husband, Bill and all of her loved ones before her, at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 after being in failing health for two years. She was 98.
Charlene was born in Hartford, OH on May 3, 1916, being one of thirteen siblings, and was the daughter of the late Frank L and Sarah M. (Toot) Sonk. She was a 1934 graduate of the former Hartford High School where she was Valedictorian of her class.
She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Sharon, where she had been a greeter and served in other capacities. Charlene was a Prayer Room coordinator for Bill Rudge Ministries for several years until her health began to decline.
In her younger years, she had worked at at Army Barracks at Camp Reynolds for during WWII. She had also worked at the former Sharon Store in Sharon, PA.
Charlene loved the Lord with all her heart. She spent countless hours doing what she loved, her flowers and her garden. Many times from morning until night, you could always find her amongst her flowers. Charlene was a very kind and loving woman who loved her children and grandchildren dearly.
She was the widow of Bill Richter. whom she married on May 8, 1948. He died on April 27, 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Patton and her companion, D. Craig Stewart, of Hermitage, PA and her grandchildren, Eric Patton and his wife, Maria, of Dublin, OH, Kristen Patton Ellwood and her companion, Charles Strader, of Niles, OH, Pat Jackson, Pam Phelps, Tim and Tom Mayer all of Oaklahoma, 14 great-grandchildren including, Ashley, Allison, and Shawn Ellwood, and Andrew Strader, along with 3 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy, and was the last of all of her siblings to survive.
Nothing on earth will ever compare to being safely tucked into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Rest well my dear , sweet Mother, no more pain, no more sadness, and no more suffering. We Love You!!

Friends are invited to call Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 from 1:00 till 3:00p.m. at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 East State St., Sharon, PA 16146.
Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10th, with Rev. Bill Rudge of the Bill Rudge Ministries of Living Truth Inc. officiating.
