Cathy J. Faber, age 54, of Transfer, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her residence, with her loving family by her side.
Born August 3, 1971, in Sharon, PA, she is the daughter of Homer (Gloria) Elberty, of Hermitage PA, and Nancy (Delgros)Hogue, of Mercer, PA.
She married David M. Faber on March 28, 1992, and he survives in Transfer, PA.
Cathy was a 1989 graduate of Kennedy Catholic High School and went on to Youngstown State University, where she earned a degree in child care. She spent many years working as a manager/ secretary for Kraynak's Lawn and Garden Center, Hermitage, PA.
Cathy was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a Girl Scout leader for Reynolds Troop #46801. She participated in a fishing program called Casting for Recovery. She also loved making all types of crafts and attending craft shows. Cathy liked to travel, especially out west where she could go hiking and explore new places, Cape Lookout National Seashore was one of her favorite places to visit. Mostly she liked to spend time with her family, fishing, boating and spending time at their camp in the Moshannon State Forest. Cathy also liked to mow grass take long walks on her property, go fishing in the pond and look after her dog and cat.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Isabel J. Faber, of Transfer, PA, a son, Jacob M. Faber, of Johnstown Colorado and two brothers John (Andrea) Elberty, of Canfield, OH and Daniel Elberty, of Brookfield, OH.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Keith Hogue.
A gathering time will be held on Friday, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, Pa. 16146.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, in Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Road, Hermitage, PA. 16148, with Fr. Dennis Blauser officiating.
