Carol A. Koch, of Sharon, formerly of Hermitage, PA, passed away peacefully on Wed. July 5, 2017 at 6:45 p.m. in Clepper Manor in Sharon, after an extended illness. She was 80.
Carol was born in Sharon, PA on December 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Howard Spangler Sr. and Pearl (Campman) Spangler. She was a 1954 graduate of Hickory High School.
Carol enjoyed cooking, dancing, gardening, listening to country music, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Phelan and her husband Chris, of Houston, TX, her two sons, Douglas Koch and his wife Andrea ,of Charlestown, WV, Greg Koch and his wife Deanne, of Hermitage, PA, along with her grandchildren, Geoffrey Koch, Melissa Koch, Taylor Rose, and Lily Koch and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are her two sisters, Betsy Marlowe of Hermitage, PA and Charlotte Lowery of Florida, and her brother Robert Spangler of Hermitage, PA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Sandra Jones, Edythe Barlow, Evelyn Duncan, Donna Black, Sara Hassel, and Loretta Boles, and brothers Howard Spangler Jr., James, John, and Norman Spangler.
