Rev. C. Robert Hibshman, Mercer, PA, formerly of Hermitage, passed away on Sat., April 29, in Countryside Convalescent Home in Mercer, after an extended illness. He was 79.
Robert was born in Sharon, PA on June 24, 1937, the son of the late Clifford and Helen (Hittle) Hibshman. He was a graduate of Sharpsville High School and Westminster College and earned a Masters of Divinity degree from the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
He had served as pastor of the Sharpsville Presbyterian Church in Sharpsville, PA, for several years retiring in 2002.. After retirement, he was pastor of the Pulaski Presbyterian Church in Pulaski, PA for a few years. Bob enjoyed reading and sports, including golf.
On May 18, 1997, he married Adeline "Addie" (Stevenson) Lockovich. She died on Dec. 22, 2016. He is survived by his son, Timothy Hibshman of Sharpsville, PA, his two step-sons, Michael Lockovich and his wife Lynn, of Valencia, PA, and Stephen Lockovich and his wife Maggie, of Hermitage, PA along with two brothers, Richard Hibshman and his wife Joyce, of Lancaster, PA, John Hibshman and his wife Ann, of Lititz, PA.
At his request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at Pulaski Presbyterian Church, 110 Liberty St., Pulaski, PA 16143. at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 21st, with Pastor Bill Knechtel officiating. Inurnment at Riverside Cemetery, Sharpsville, PA.
