Betty L. Lyons

Betty L. Lyons, of 3726 East State St., Hermitage, PA formerly of Linden St., Sharon, passed away peacefully at 7:04 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Hospitality Care Center in Hermitage after an extended illness. She was 72.
Betty was born in Ironton, OH on May 29, 1940, the daughter of the late Fred and Virgie (Watson) Skidmore.She had worked as a cleaning person at C.W. Properties. Previously, she had worked at the former Hills store in Hermitage, the Sharon Parking Authority, and the former Howell Industries in Masury, OH.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and taking care of her pets.She was of Protestant faith.
She was the widow of James Lyons. whom she married on Jan. 5, 1957. He died on Jan. 18, 1986. She is survived by her three daughters Janet Kuchmak and her husband, Tony, of Hermitage,PA. Donna Bondarenko and her husband, George, and Tammy Richards and her companion, Don Kirkland, all of Sharon, PA., two sons, James Lyons and his wife, Lena of Jackson, OH., Thomas Lyons and his wife, Rose of Sharpsville, PA. Also survivng are 8 grandchildren, Michael " Anthony", Chrissy, and Mary Kuchmak, Clyde, Danny, and Stephanie Richards, and Sheila and Erica Lyons, along with 5 great-grandchildren, Michael, Carley, Savannah and Jada Kuchmak and Payden Richards. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceeded in death by 3 sisters, Freda and Olive Skidmore, and Jean Keaton, and 2 brothers, Buster Skidmore and Fred Skidmore Jr.

Funeral service at Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, Sharon, PA. at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1st, with Rev. Jeff Harter of Sts. Peter and Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park Hermitage, PA.
