Barbara L. (Pinch) Meyer,86, of Transfer, passed away April 19,2025 peacefully at the home of her daughter and caregiver, Beverly.
She was born August 26,1938, in Sharon, PA to Herbert and Mary Jane (Shuttleworth)Pinch. She was a 1956 graduate of Sharon High. That same year she married the love of her life, Bob, and moved to Prospect Hill Farm in Transfer where they would remain for the next 57 years, raising 6 daughters, beloved bulldogs via BOBA Kennel's and with open arms welcoming friends, family and exchange students to their home. She has 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was a 36 year breast cancer survivor.
Bob and Barb were active with CB radio going by the handles Old Prospector and his Golden Nugget and through an friendship there began a long journey of collecting of Blue Willow China.
They were active church members with Barb raised in the Covenant UP church, a long membership at Christ Lutheran in Sharon and finally Zion UCC in Transfer.
Barb had many house making talents that she shared generously. Many blue ribbons were won at the Harvest Home in multiple categories but especially sewing Barbie clothes, Christmas tree skirts and even a wedding dress. She was an amazing cook and baker but their Christmas chocolates were legendary. She worked part time at Piece Goods, seasonally at Hickory Farms and Ideal bakery with her cousin Pat making kolaches.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Robert and John, son-in-law Maxwell McNeel and grandson Matthew Kaye. Babs is survived by her sister Marilou (Publio) Zampedro and brother Ken Bee. 6 daughters Brenda (George) Kaye, Barbara (John) Hoch, Beverly Meyer, Betty Jo (Bill) Walker, Becky (Tim) Ague and Bonnie (Steve) O'Brien.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home LLC, 264 E. State Street, Sharon, Pa. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home, with Pastor Harley Williams officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or a local school lunch program.
