Mr. Anthony J. Fragle, age 92, of New Wimington, PA formerly of Baker Avenue in Hermitage, PA, passed away peacefully at 11:47 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012 at the Overlook Medical Clinic in NewWilmington after an extended illness.
Mr. Fragle was born in Sharon, PA on October 1, 1919, the son of the late Pasquale and Carrie (Gioa) Fragle. He was a graduate of Sharon High School. Tony went on to serve his country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during WW II having earned several medals including the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars. He was a member of Notre Dame Church Hermitage, PA., where he had served as an usher in years past.
He had worked as a salesperson at Pennsylvania Liquor Store in Farrell, PA., for several years.In his younger years, he had also worked as a truck driver for Texaco Gas Company.
Tony was a life member of the Sharon American Legion Post # 299 and also a member of the Knights of Columbus, # 684 and the 4th Degree, and the Catholic War Veterans Association.
He was the widower of Elizabeth "Bibs" (Sharp) Fragle. who died in 1979. His survivors include his brother, Alfred Fragle and his wife, Edith of Hermitage, PA along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceeded in death by two sisters, Mary Sansosti and Agnes Gatty, along with his 7 brothers, Guy, Joseph, Frank, James, Robert, Victor, and Patsy Fragle.

There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held at at St. Rose Cemetery Chapel ,in Hermitage, PA. at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9th,2012 with Rev. Jeffey Noble of Notre Dame Church officiating.
Interment at St Rose Cemetery,in Hermitage PA.
