Alice Jane Yeager, of Hermitage, PA, died at Ellwood City Hospital on Tuesday morning, November 19, 2013. Her passing followed a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was 87. Most recently, Alice resided at John XXIII Nursing Home in Hermitage.
Alice was born in Perry twp.in Mercer County, PA on January 23, 1926, to Leda Orvilla and Arthur Jacob Klotz. On June 28, 1947, Alice was married to her childhood sweetheart, Leland "Pete" David Yeager. Alice and her husband lived most of their married lives in Orangeville, Ohio. In 1968, they moved to Sharpsville and after nearly 25 years of marriage, Pete died in 1971.
Alice leaves behind three sons, Thomas, of Springfield, Illinois, James of Lone Tree, Colorado, and John, of Manchester Village, Vermont. Alice had eight grandchildren.
Alice was a devoted homemaker who was known among family and friends for her lovely home and the memorable events she hosted there. For many years, Alice and her family were involved in the Sharpsville United Methodist Church. She was named " Volunteer of the Year" at the Sharon Regional Health System after contributing 8500 hours of volunteer service. Her hobbies included bowling in several leagues and she was a passionate member of a number of card playing clubs.

A time of visitation will take place from 2:00 till 3:00p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at the Sharpsville United Methodist Church, 148 E. Shenango St., Sharpsville, PA 16150. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Yurko officiating.
