Alice W. Gerberding

Alice W. Gerberding, age 80, of Romar Drive, Hermitage, PA , died peacefully at home at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2011 after a brief illness. Alice was born July 2nd, 1931 in Buffalo , NY  to Herbert and Alice (Wesp) Siegner. She was a 1948 graduate of Lockport (N.Y.) High School and a 1952 Alumna of Thiel College in Greenville, PA. Alice was an administrative assistant for 10 years for State Senator Roy Wilt and had also worked at Plaza Travel and Little Acres Apartments, both in Hermitage. As a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sharon, she sang in the choir and served on the church council. Her husband, Rev. Milo "Mike" Gerberding, whom she married on June 2, 1950, died in 1959. Surviving are two nieces, Betty Mooney, Charlottesville, VA and Catherine Falkum, Plymouth, Minn., two brothers, Dr. Allan Siegner and his wife, Janet, Orchard Park, NY and Robert Siegner, Naples, FL, and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceeded in death by her parents. Alice's family would like to thank all the wonderful friends and caregivers who helped her so much during her illness. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Evagelical Lutheran Church, 369 Buhl Blvd. or Buhl Park Corp., 730 Forker Blvd., both of Sharon, PA 16146. There were no calling hours at her request. Cremation services were provided by the funeral home. A memorial service was held at 3:30 .p.m. on July  14, 2011 , at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Ronald G. Hartman, pastor officiating. Burial was at Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville, PA.
